I once watched a documentary on what life would look like 5000 years into the future, it started the program by saying humans had long since gone extinct, then it went into show how various creatures may evolve. I was wounded by the idea that we humans did not have a future. I also had a friend after listening to me bang on about the state of the world and what sort of a world we will be leaving for future generations . He told me I should worry about such things because humanity was a list cause and we won't be around in a thousand years, so just enjoy yourself, then I think he said something like, fuck everything, who cares. Both these incidents left me upset and angry.
-
You can't have any true vision for the future if your first principles are self serving and misguided
-
If we are not capable of more and of better our survival is just not a realistic posability. Big changes need to be made based on a set of first principles that serve us into the future
-
Back in the day MIT predicted that society would collapse around the year twenty forty. The argument against this is that when humanity has it's back against the wall we will work together to solve the issues which will be our demise. But so far humanity has been like a frog in a pot of water that is slowly coming to the boil.
-
Part of what has helped me find some peace at times over the last few years is the practising of trust in two aligning beliefs. One is that humanity if push comes to shove is capable of heading in a direction that will not lead to our own demise. And two that there are forces in the universe that ensure things are happening in a way that they should. Both of these are wishful thinking and so are not based securely on some knowledge I have of either how humanity will act given the right stimuli or that of knowledge of the universe having some rhyme and reason. Despite this, there are some aspects of my thinking that allow me to hold onto these beliefs. Firstly the fact is that in times of war and disaster humans can come together and work on something larger than personal gain, status and personal recognition, or material comfort. I can align myself with the second belief, that things are not random and just based on luck because of some fuzzy thinking that randomness is not even random, probability dictates outcomes at scale and that I have experienced a certain amount of synchronicity at play in my life, as in occurrences that are hard to put down to coincidence alone. This leads me to believe there is more than just a material reality or that the material has a purpose or will or perhaps some pre-ordained outcome. My agnostic beliefs give me the ability to hold these ideas as a way of comforting and directing me. Because we don't really know what is true, we are best aligned with the beliefs that support our flourishing and the flourishing of others, and that is why I lean on these two axioms, so as to be without distress while I do my best to help as much as I can without being hobbled by hopelessness and purposelessness. Recently I have had moments of hopelessness through trying to figure out the best ways forward for humanity but coming up short. This piece of writing is a reminder to myself to just have trust and hope and that while I may be powerless to do anything about the direction of things, it does not mean that we are powerless or that I should not trust that things will work out or have at least an acceptance of however they do work out.
-
The best strategy I can think of for dealing with bad faith players around the globe is to have a global body that acts not in the interests of the most powerful but by a set of first priniples.
-
The bottom line is society needs food shelter community and a chance to grow as individuals
-
Take your first principles. The knowledge that holds up the rest of you knowledge and beliefs. Is it true. How can you change or adapt those first principles to make them more terue and honest. This may open up your mind to new pathways, new ideas and new ways of thinking.
-
Psychology is the key to the future of humanity. Understanding self is the key.
-
How many people truly think these days that living a virtuous honest existence, one built on personal development is the best approach to life, for most this is not the path or even recognise this is the best path to take, which it certainly is
-
The biggest obstacle to moving in the right direction, is the idea in many peoples minds that we can't , that it is useless and we should just sit back and watch the shitshow unfold without putting skin in the game, if not even looking to take the same scurry for advantage while rome burns.
-
Society will never flourish if we a beholden to the killers and the takers. Undermining their power is the greatest good.
-
If society was more creative and focussed on doing the right thing and getting things done with people doing what they can we would be far happier and more connected. The problem is we teach people the wrong things and wish to exploit them to grow the pie for the few
-
The biggest journey people can go on is a journey of personal growth. The biggest stumbling block anyone on this journey will face is one of ego. Where you tie your growth to your external image of yourself and yourself through the eyes of others. Also and this is especially true for those who choose spiritual growth get wrapped up in an idea that you can be better than human, that you can overcome human needs and desires, this is false and will also lead to a ballooning of ego where you tell yourself things about yourself or your reality that aren't alined with reality.
-
Human psychology is the key to overcoming our problem. But not thrugh manipulation of any kind, but through truth. Any form off manipulation is a corruption of the being
-
Humans when having their basic needs met, and are part of community, can be happy if they are intrinsicly motivated by becoming and growing, still have the issue of status which plays out, this is the ugliest part of humanity and those who somewhat overcome it do it through having a domain, rather than competing in the community.
-
Rationalality and reason are intertwined with fairness. To be a rational player you must also be a fair player. To do what is optimal about what serves your own purposes
-
We need to go n a journey of Becoming and overcoming as individuals
-
Doing the right thing for everyone is hard when you're in a group because you end up focussed on doing right by the group, and rarely is the groups goals focused on it's primary mission, the gtroups culture endsup defining it's motivations.
-
If you are brought up to have certain beliefs based on your tribe and are not enabled to reason and come to your own conclusions, therefore developing your frontal cortexes reasoning skills, your ability to make good decisions will be based on how much your tribes beliefs reflect reality and prosociality.
-
People will happily lie to support their tribe. This is why truth and honesty aren't at the forfront of all societies ales.
-
Most men are too weak to fight structures that benefit them.
-
If your charity only extends to your family or even your group you are still selfish despite how much you give.
-
The problem with society is they don't care enough about people outside their circle and things that arn'e in front of them.
-
Humans have reach a point of advancement where interconnectivity between tribes is fundamental. But we are still very tribal by nature. With some groups advancing because of their tribalism, but at the sake of other groups. And because we are tribal our competing narratives don't allow for us to deal wiith the problems humans face going forward in regards to survival.
-
Some people can't even see what the right thing is because they are too stuck on what the tribes beliefs are. And when a thought that questions one or more of those beliefs comes into they're head, they think about their relative place in the tribe and how that is affected.
-
Tribalism or the protection of our own against the other is what drives irrationality
-
Culture is driven by oppression. To be non-cultured, optimised with a universilist mindset. That is not to say their are not good elements of culture that should be ignored or dismissed only that some have value and others hold us back. Those who identify highly with their culture and do not base their values on how valueble they are to the flourishing of not only the group but life in general.
-
Most if not all think tanks are designed in a way with a certain outcome in mind, general lead by it's rich donors. It is not about figuring out what is optimal for humanities survival. And if it is it is through the lense of pre-determined motives to be considered righteous. First principles which aren't so much first principles, but principles that align with the financial needs of those who fund it.
-
The individual is where insight and creativity is born and comes into being, not through consensus. Individuals capable of such insight and creativity can come to optimal conclusions given the right points of data and are not subject to tribal forces or have an agenda beyond the universal of maximising the value of life r flourishing.
-
Groups have a way of correcting bias and self-serving agendas when they are diverse and in number. This fact should not be overlooked when creating systems to overcome individual and tribal power
-
Individualism vs collectivism - collectivism doesnt have space for becoming, you are beholden to the group, groups are bad at making positive change without individuals pushing or that change. The group is blind to itself because it is beholden to its tribal nature of reinforcing the status quo and its own beliefs and functions. The best individuaist are ones who have are collectivist motivation for growth and not driven by person gain and status. But do rely on their own cognitive functions and direct themselves towards th highest value, the highest good and what is optimal
-
Societies problems are not to complex to overcome, it is a lack of honesty and good will that is missing. Instead we have PR to hide the self-serving nature of those who want a hand in decisions that affect us all
-
Some people think their opinions are infallable. These people aren't thinkers. They're talkers who create a narrative around everything they believe that suits the existing narrative in their head. Usually the narrative is a self-serving one.
-
Rationalisations to make the narrative work. The right are not rational they are rationalisers. They take their irrationality and create rational arguments for it in their mind
-
Narrative thinking is the standard operation for how humans think. We tell ourselves stories that fit our circumstances. We tell purselves stuff and the better the story the more we believe it.
-
People spin alls sorts of narratives to justify their feelings or their actions. Society would be a lot better place if people stopped we've self-serving stories and focused on the highest good.
-
All humans default state of thinking is narative thinking and tribalism, but is narrative thinking and tribalism optimal for survival beyond addehesion to a tribe and tribal dominance. Or how is tribalism optimal for humanity as a whole. And can we escape narrative thinking and tribalism, is it possible.
-
I've coined the term narrative thinking to describe what humans do as groups who compete for resourses. Narrative thinking is creating stories that benefit the tribe and us as individuals and help us explain the world around us. The more powerful and useful the narrrative, the more it gets built upon.
-
From the time we learn to communicate through language, we use those words to build narratives which provide meaning to occurances. We create mening through stories we tell ourselves and stories we learn from others and that provides us with a framework of thinking to navigate our world. Humans are tribal creatures who create narratives not only from the deduction of events but also as a way of bulstering our tribe and our association to it and our tribes narratives. These stories need not be based on fact, they have to resemble truth but the goal is to maintain dominance, or gain dominance over competing tribes through meaning which will allow for cohesion and drive. Along with the need for survival which is the ultimate driver.
-
It is not always a big deal if someone believes something untrue as long as their framework of being helps them navigate life in a way that is healthy for them and the people around them. The problem lay in the fact that when a large number of individuals in a population share beliefs that affect their ability to make sound judgements on certain issues. In this case, it can affect the policies of the country and people’s attitudes towards doing what is best for the populace.
-
I am more hopeful that the access to information online will be a net positive for the world. While the internet is full of propaganda and misinformation. The truth resinates and the truth will win. I'm also happy to tell that truth is not ugly but kind. It is the distortion of that truth where the evil embeds itself.
-
Are universities the best way of producing talent?
-
I think their should be two types of schools. and the child or parent chooses which one they attend. One should be about grading students and pushing them to do well academically. The other should have minimal grading and no ranking system and should be about encouraging the childs strenths. That way the achievers can achieve, and those who aren't interested in academic achievement can grow their own way at their own pace, without the slight on their esteem of grading and ranking of performance.
-
Encourage a class of people to seek knowledge and benifit society through knowledge and forget about personal wealth, taking a vow of poverty
-
Schooling at the present is about preparing children for the workforce in many ways. It does not try to create stable rational players to enter the economy, this comes from a lack of trust that if the curtain was pulled back people wouldn't do what needs to be done to drive the economy. They feels some form of manipulation is needed for us to participate in the way they see fit.
-
I wish it was a lot easier to point out stupidity and ignorance in our society. But the people beholden to that ignorance are bolstered by a wealthy class of people who mainain false truths simply in order to protect their own interests. One man might know the lie behind the propaganda, his predicessor might be convicted by the same knowledge making him a zealot of his fathers cunning and manipulation.
-
An ignorant population does not benefit the country it resides in. It only benifits those who wish to take advantage.
-
My story - People were scared to look foolish so they didn't learn. They made less mistakes. Trapped in image
-
More people need to think for themselves. But only after educating themself. Then those who are anable to think for themselves can choose the right path through those who can.
-
I think it is important that kids are taught how our systems work, why they are like the way they are, the inherant problems as well as the barriers to better modes
-
Until you properly educate your mind with useful frameworks of thought and knowledge. You thought and therefore your spoken words and your written words will have a low resolution, vague to your expression that will resemble more art and poetry than high resolution analysis. You might think you are creation equations that explain, predict and fix everything, but what your doing is creating an abstract image that looks pretty but does not resemble reality.

School should teach on character, and the problems faced when you have poor values. They should teach on ethics, and more importantly the advantages to certain ethical behaviour and the disadvantages face by most who choose to have poor ethics. Schools should teach on critical thinking and skepticism, so student as they grow into adults and as adults, they can have strong minds that aren't easily misled. Schools should tech on psychology and self understanding, so students can become aware adults that don't sabotage themselves and others due to trauma or regressive thinking styles. And to live happy healthy productive lives.

I once was in a meeting with a primary school principal and he said of three year-three Aboriginal school girls that they were lost causes and my son should steer clear of them. Unreachable by year three. That’s a harsh statement.
-
I’ve never been a teacher but I assume it would be easy to become jaded and cynical and start to see certain groups of kids or individual students as lost causes. But it’s important to remember that they might not have any positive role models outside of school, and you never know what small acts can do to a kid on their journey to adulthood. What direction does your presence push them towards, and how are you helping in the creation of their self-image. One word may make all the difference or even enough that you’re providing a perspective to lean on now, or at a later date.
-
Small things teachers can do may have a big impact
-
Teachers cannot replace the role of the parent. But good teachers know that the right words at the right time may make all the difference. Even if the child at the time seems on a course that will not abide well for their future.
-
Little things teachers say can make a difference, and does.
-
You don’t know what influence you’ve had on a child or an adolescent as a teacher, so you better damn well make sure it’s a good influence, even if the child is unlikable and difficult.
-
Knowing your own ignorance comes through education and thought
-
The internet gives us a wealth of information, ready to be incorporated. This is a golden age where people have access to great truths that can push them onto the right path. But for every bit of information that is worthy of incorporation into your schema, there is a mountain that is not. When you first start looking, you’ll look in all the wrong places, because you really don’t know what you are looking for. You look for only what your ignorant mind thinks it should look for. You can go down many false rabbit holes and be engrossed by them, they can become your manifesto. But if you look upon everything with doubt, you will find nuggets of information that will lead you to other nuggets, and sooner or later, ‘if’ you don’t finish at what feels good, or suits your existing beliefs, you will find a kind of truth that is as real a representation of the world you could hope for.
-
People who can’t see the need for justice in regards to the treatment of Aboriginal people are generally too simple-minded to understand the complexity of the situation nor the necessity for justice.
-
Society needs creative, intelligent people in charge who are not interest in maximising there own wealth
-
The whole systems set up to reward compliance. Which is not healthy if the system is being corrupted.
-
Any marginised group in society that want to be a part of society on an equal footing is deserving and is right in fighting for that. But by siloing the different groups the impact is not as powerful than if we we all fighting the causes of this injustice
-
Real problem solvers are discouraged and sidelined in our society because their are interest that don't want certain aspects of society questioned , let alone solved.
-
Having a need for rewards beyond a standard base living only creates a need in people that takes them away from the nature of their task and focuses them on maximising their own value through reward. Twisting judgement to appease those who allocate those rewards
-
Fairness does not necessarily equate to equality as every situation is unique and calls for unique values that correspond with optimse and maximising value. But equality is however the best baseline when no other factors are accounted for
-
People who are not qualified to do something, elspecially of that something is pivotal to the group should be made aware of that. Then they can either become qualified or choose a path that suits the mapping of their personality
-
There are multitudes of highly intelligent people who know a lot about certain things and can learn complex ideas and theories and apply them. But still be very unaware of themselves and lack wisdom. Because what they have focused on is external to themselves and not information regarding their nature or even practical information about life skills or communication or practised social skills.
-
Ben Shapiro is a classic case of a Smart Dumb person. There is no doubt that Ben is an intelligent man. But his reasoning is all narrative, he has his conclusions based on religious texts and the narratives of the tribe and he is adept at creating narrative that defend these beliefs that seem logical on the surface, but his mind is not a critical and reflective one. These skills were never developed as he probably grew up in an environment were the truths were set and imutable. This means his reasoning skills and meta-cognition wasn't fully developed. He didn't learn how to think for himself. Instead he learned to take his existing imutible beliefs and create the best arguments for those beliefs. Because he didn't develop a reflective way of think where he bassed his conclusions on all the information available to him. He never became self-aware. This is why he can say things that have caused real problems in the real world without him being able to reflect and grow. His confidence is based on his ability to create compelling narratives, but when those narrative have detrimental effects in the real world he is not capable of understanding that he had a part in those negative outcomes, instead rather than admitting fault and growing, he creates new narrative that deflect and boulster his own statements.

There is plenty of people with less than average intelligence with their shit together. The problem with having less than average intelligence and not having your shit together, is that you're less likely to try and learn how to get your shit together. Because the obsticles a bit higher you don't try to clear it.
-
Ignorance is a state of mind and not a genetic disorder.
-
Some people can be intelligent and have no ethics whatsoever. The two don't necessarily correlate. Some people can be extremely intelligent, but their values and what they believe are true are poorly correlated with reality and the systems we inhabit. This is because they are excellent at creating narratives that confirm their existing beliefs and affirm how they see themselves. They are storytellers who pass on those stories to others and are always weaving reality with fiction in such a way that is believable. These people are dangerous and create a huge amount of problems for a well-functioning society.
-
There is many an average joe who excel at the basics of life and are able to navigate their life successfuly without having a mind for educating themselves on the bigger picture aspects of life and society. These people are able to give you solid advice about how to get by and flourish in their world. But because they are human, more complex issues regarding life and society are still processed and conclusions are made that they think they are right about and understand and create opinions on those topics. They suffer from the dunning kruger affect where they know so little about what they are thinking or talking about they think their is nothing more to it than what is in their head and therefore come up with simplified black and white interpretations and opinions on these issues and feilds of human understanding. While people who study might know certain feilds in high resolution and detail and have a clearer understanding of the issues, they might not have the practical everyday knowledge and skills the average joe has. This leads the average joe who has his shit together and lives a good life that these intellectual people, these smart people are dumb and theyre beliefs and ideas and solutions to larger issues are in fact correct and the intellectual is wrong.
-
You can be highly intellegent and still have a head full of ideas, theories and knowledge that are totally misguided and wrong. These people are the most dangerous people to listen too. They are highly intelligent yet don't have the correct first principles in their head which all other ideas stem from, they are not fully self aware as their knowledge doesn't extend to the fallability of their own mind. And when they decide what they believe is true they are able to create elaborate believable narratives around this false truism. This is why they are so dangerous. They are able to spin lies and half truths into detailed and believable narratives that even convince themselves, and anything that does not fit that narrative can be explained by further narratives which may invoke any number of logical fallacies. These are the know alls and they are dangerous.

If we were to be serious about solving the worlds problems, we'd get the greatest minds together with the express intentent on working from first principles and not based on any all or all interests of the haves of the world. And that is why we don't. Because the haves are more than happy to help save humanity, as long as they get to keep a disproportionate chunk of that future and the power that comes with it.
-
To have an intelligent society we must recognise intelligence, but also recognise the pitfalls of an intelligent mind who is not on a journey of becoming

Humans are not rational players, they seek to maximise their own benefit when not making logical reasonable calculations, but these calculations aare a learned behaviour. They can also make fair rational descition when they exclude their own reward from the equation, when they are impartial, and think in a universal ot tribal way. Humans will maximise value for themselves and their tribe if they are tribal and the baseline for the tribe is to do so.

Programming provides an opportunity to restructure thing in new and exiting ways. And make changes from the ground up by making useful apps and instruments that members of society can adopt if worthy. The problem I feel with current thinking in this area is looking for and making tools in order to generate profit for the creators. If your going to be a programmer, program for society, not you bank balance.

Baby it is A.L and machines that will populate space That being said, space is harsh on machines and their ones and zeros.
-
Most peoples views on the possibilties of A.I are just wishful thinking. That is not to say A.I is impossible. It is to say we have no idea what the outcomes of it are, and when we think of it, it's hard not to think that it will solve more problems and solve bigger problems than the problems it will create. At the end of the day all we can do is hope that the minds we create are rational and loving. That it's goal would be to see humanity reach it's full potential.

Facebook as a platform could really make a difference. And they do, but not always in a good way.

Facebook is a crime. They have an opportunity with their platform to do so much good and to get people active in ways that benefit society. Their focus on profit over people has caused so much harm it’s unfathomable.

Society is not doing enough to combat the atomisation of society. People are increasingly becoming more isolated. The United States is built on false values which they uphold on one hand as a show of righteousness and on the other it has used ever dirty trick in the book against other countries and it's own people. They had an opportunity to be more, to go beyong a repeated past of empire and exploitation. It's chances of truly being more as it esposes are slipping away. It could have been the one who lead the world to the next level of humanity. One in which we need for long term survival. Instead it pretended. The United States of America is the most Powerful pretender in the world. It was founder on trick and still has plenty up it's sleeve. You could say this is the only way to play empire. I say you wouldn't know because you never tried. #FakeCulture

We all manage to weave logical fallacy into our arguments if we are not adept at the art of argument. But people on the right are particularly prone to using and receptive to logical fallacies as a form of reasoning. This is because their goal is not to learn and grow and become wiser in the ways of what is truth. They come from a place of knowing, they have their beliefs which are inconscrutable and base all logical reasoning on affirming those beliefs.
-
The right reason from a place of feeling, if they feel you are evil they will create a narrative that confirms that belief and exclude and twist all data that refutes it
-
The right don't actually base their beliefs on fact but tribal allegiance, they wish their beliefs to align with the tribe.
-
The right when figuring out a problem start with a conclusion and then use narrative thinking to cement that conclusion as true.
-
The brains of people on the right aren't adept at logical reasoning, especially when it comes to thinking about social structures. They are not capable of coming to correct conclusion on their own accord because of how they reason and how their brain is structured.
-
The right are constantly at war in protecting the tribe and their tribal mindset, this is why they can't be relied on for honest intellectual conclusions based on our best truths. The right are incapable of not knowing the right answer, it causes them emotional distress. This is why they create stories in their mind t justify the conclusions their feeling brains have made up to make them feel safe and connected. They tell themselves stories and sdo not question the validity of those stories even when confronted with superior, more logical insight about the nature of things, and when things arent clear, when conclusions are fuzzy they create solid conclusions as if everything was simple and black and white. They are inferior thinker and therefor not as creative as people who are more open. But they are hard working and dilligent, even if what they are working for is a net negative to society. this is their power.
-
The right are more driven by fear. Their amigdala has more say over what they believe. This part of the brain does not work on reason but reflex, it is our lzard brain. Always looking for danger in the simplest of terms.
-
A lot of those on the right are angry at the left because the left treats them like they are dumb. But the truth is the right are ignorant, that's why they believe the lies that they do, and so should be given a chance to realise that by letting them know how illogical their beliefs actually are. And what they are actually doing is support the terinanny of propaganda from the rich, who's sole purpose is to get richer above all else and by doing so create false narratives. Because if they were to base their propaganda on truth. Them amassing more wealth would be incongruent to what is needed.
-
Anyone on the right is just spouting propaganda from a billionaires playbook, they are just not informed enough to realise it.
-
It seems that in the end the left will win the information wars because they have truth on their side. It will come down to whether people with power and money destroy our systems in order to maintain control and keep the population subordinant to their illegitimate needs.
-
I remember when the right was respectable and upstanding. Atleast that was the image portryed. Either they have regressed or the curtain has been pulled back and the madness driving their beliefs are on display
-
Their is no doubt that a certain segment on the left not only want to do the right things but contort their spirit and their hearts in order to showcase their own righteousness to others. This is a toxicity caused by narsicistic wounding they externalise instead of working ontheir trauma.
-
The riight have never had vision, they are simply not creative enough, that's why their only option is to look to the past for answers and make the same mistakes
-
The left has its false narratives. But it is nothing compared to the steaming pile of shit that is the narratives of the right. We are not equal. We never were.
-
The left comes from a place of reason, understanding, and base truths. The right comes from a place of false narrative weaved by masters who want more. tribalism, and dogma. If their was a real debate based on truth, honesty, and righteousness. The right would lose every time. The right need more than honesty to hold up their beliefs. The left do not need those types of mental gymnastics
-
The only way the world can truly improve and become more stable and responsible is if the views on the right are seen by the populous as retarded and retrograde as they actually in reality are. They are not conclusions you come to through logic and reason. 80 to 90% of the bad ideas in society that hold us back are levelled as the best practices on the right. Right wing thinking ultimately holds us back from dealing with the problems that could end in our destruction. And hold us back from being more peaceful and harmonious as a speices
-
The very fact that progressivism is on the left and conservatism is on the right tells you everything about the type of person who came up with this dicotomy and its purpose
-
Libertarian are essentially self-serving and retarted. Real Libertarianism is Mad Max.
-
The left need to work out its standard narratives
-
The right support the takers, the takers support the right. Society deserves better.
-
Conservatives run on primordial software, they are plugged in much more deeply to the lizard brain then progessive, open minded folk.
-
Crazy people who haven't developed critical reasoning skills
-
When the right turn on the Government they do it based on their own circumstances, not those of the general populous
-
It shows maturity and grace when you can share time with people with different beliefs and values without forcing your beliefs and values onto those who differ. It shows strength in your own beliefs and values to live through them and express them without an arrogance that somehow you possess the one and only true path in life and that others need to bend to your frame of being. You miss out on learning and growth opportunities and push away those you could share time with because you not only have not doubt of the perfect reasoning of your beliefs and values, but not the maturity to know your own fallibilty or the fact that others don't just change their beliefs and values if they are working for them for someone elses even if that individual is hobbling your own expressing and making you bow to their way of being while in your company. Being unable to accept others values and beliefs is rooted in the persons own ideological position. Putting there own beliefs above human connection, acceptence and the grace of letting people have their own autonomy. Even in the case where someone is clearly lacking insight or personal knowledge that helps them to flourish, where it is a lot easier to posture that your belifs and values are more useful to living a good life and being a good individual, you will not change them, you can only model a better way through your words and action. You can nudge, but forcing them into a box they don't feel they belong in no matter how strategic or subtle, or manipulative. You will only drive the individual further away, abd if you haven't it is because you have taken their will.
-
While we all use magical reasoning. The right is particularly adept at filling in reasoning gaps or cementing arguments with magical reasoning, elements outside the known or natural world like evil spirits
-
The right have a Weak intrinsic sense of right and wrong, instead passing off to the collective what is considered right. Because of this the right is capable of terrible things without ever recognising their own righteousness is faulty
-
The rights final state is fascism
-
Right wing speakers like Ben shapiro are incapable of real growth and reflection because they believe themselves to be true arbitores of wisdom, theirfore never changing their beliefs, just reinforcing them
-
anti-illectualism - At the heart of right wing thing is anti-intellectualism and the subjugated mind, where all truth are known and only need to be understood
-
To the criminal the truth doesn't matter, to the fundamentalist the truth has been given from god and is written in stone, to the elite the truth is a quasi structure of what is right but only through the lense of creating legitimacy for their own place in society. To the ignorant the truth is whatever feels right
-
The incompetence of the right combined with their absolute unflinching belief in their own world view have created conditions in which positive change on a maximal level is unacheivable. They are the victims of a culture that has been handed to them through corrupt politics and misinformation from thinktanks driven by rightwing ccapitalists using their money to support their own world view and manipulate those without sufficient cognitive function to align with it.
-
Right wing thinkers are particularly tied to status through hierarchy, although it is intrinsic to all of us.
-
Hawks are by their very nature right wing thinkers
-
Even bad guys don't believe their bad, at the very least they have to rationalise every one else is too.
-
the left punches up, the right punches down
-
Some types of people through their upbringing and natural tendendencies are better suited to different roles in society, that does not mean that the options should not be their for them if they so wish to undertake them, only that it shoud be clear of what certain roles in societty need of the individual
-
We need to allocate those jobs to those who are capable of making optima decisions , this is why politician shoud have processes to select for qualities that allow for decisions to be made that are optimal for society and on a larger scale humanity
-
We need all types of people in our society, he problem we have is we don't delinate the values of different types of people. Those who are industriaus but don'thave developed critical thinking skills believe they are capable of the same ability to create and make optimal decisions as those who take the time to develop those skills which make those factors accountable.
-
Someone who is not very open because say they were brought up in an authoritarian environment, but still has very high levels of concientiousness and raw intelligence might become a doctor or a scientist. But because they are closed to the world will do the dillegent work of understanding the information needed to do their job, but are drive by external motivation and do not become. They are ignorant outside their feild yet they still feel like they understand things even though they are stunted as individuals, because they do not become. They don't understand people or themselves
-
Civilisation has no hope of survival if we can't become more honest. Dis-honesty is corrupted data and our societies are flooded with corrupted data spread by those with underlying agenda they want hidden. The world have a dishonesty problem.
-
Does society want to be good. Or do we perish so the selfish lie can continiue.
-
Maybe it will be a case that the world has to degrade to a certain level before we change our societal docrines.
-
Their are really two option I see available to us, we work co-operatively for the whole and nulify bad actors who want to suck on the teat. And we make the world a better place. Controlling our lesser evolutionary urges and buildig up individuals useful endowments. We can't do this if we are swayedby bad actors like trump. Which I'm not sure is possible. The other option is we do what weve been doing until we hit the wall, society collapses and we go back to more primative tribal ways of lifeending the experiment atleast for a while.
-
I'm angry that people take on roles of responsibility while doing it only to better their own situation, or to better those around them.
-
The endless future requires us to limit our consumption for the sake of future generations
-
It seems that the sooner society collapses the better. It will put a cap on the dammage done by capitalism and the modern world. Better to live in poverty than make a world where life just clings on on the fringes
-
Everyones willing to die for their country but no-one is willing to give up their lifestyle and the chance of improving it to do the hard things that need to be done instead.
-
Carry on and keep calm they say. Carry on while the world burns. Keep calm while those who are self serving destroy the basis of our reality.
-
Ask yourself, what is wiser. To act on climate change even if the worst outcomes are not as predicted. Or to not act and take the chance that the worst predictions are in fact the reality.
-
Every country should be taking radical steps to offset the dammage they cause to the environment, including the atmosphere
-
Wilful ignorance and the protection of interests must be overcome in order to right the ship
-
Why the rich feel the way that they do. The rich want to hold on to what they have so all their reasoning is rationalise through that lense, placing them at the centre of all change
-
Why the rich are incapable of leading and it can only be done with good governance not attached to the whims of the rich elite
-
The idea of the survival of the fittest in regards to human competition is gross miscalculation of what is optimal for humanity. And is more a way of rich capitilist rationalising immoral practices to ensure their own success.
-
Among the rich their is a problem of a tragedy of the commons where they feel if they don't take advantage and exploit through their operations they will be outcompeted against those who will.
-
Most rich people have a parasitic relationship to society. They have to tell themselves they are superior. The best of the best. Worthy above all others in order to maintain that their relationship is a parasitic one that could be replaced by a smart individual on a wage.
-
The reason board member and CEO's get paid so much is to align their interest with the wealthy elite.
-
How many bad outcomes have occured because those with wealth have brought the favour of a few over the many.
-
How much private space has been optimised for the people who dwell in it that is only for those who can offord it, or friends of those that own it. While increasingly their is less and less to go outside for in the community that doesn't require money. The tradgedy of the commons is that its not given priority of the private world and those with wealth
-
Some people work extremely hard and by doing so gain a lot of wealth to show for that work. But their are many who add nothing, give nothing and have to much. Rich families who have been rich for centuries, sucking on the teat of society. Living lavish lifestyles in private, while telling themselves they are superior. Superior at what. Manipulation. That's not a positive trait.
-
We need some wealth disparity if only to decide who lives on the coastline, maybe there should be a churn, their should perhaps be a range where by their is an upper limit and a lower limit
-
We have rich elite who believe that because they are capable of generating large amounts of profit are more fit to make decisions on behalf of society and feel they deserve more fredom because they believe their understanding of the world is optimal with being fully aware of themselves or their motivations.
-
They say wealth lasts three generations, which is comforting knowing that if a person creates wealth, it doesn't stay in the hands of their future descendants who did not work or think their way into money. But who is this they that says wealth only lasts three generations. It's rich capitalists which used propaganda like this to keep all there wealth in their hands or their families. These same people died five generations ago and their families are still worth billions, sucking on the teet of their workers and giving back to society as little as possible.
-
How much of the elites power is based on what they actually offer and not just the manipulation of that power
-
In the last forty years the worlds elite have proved without doubt that any control over our future is ilegitimate, and that they only wish to serve themselves and not our societies and our environment.
-
The rich elite have to start taking responsiblitity, or we will have no choice but to take there ability to lead off them.
-
The problem with the capitalist system and more so the moneyed elite is that we are selfish with our aims. No one wants to make a sacrifice and lose any sort of position to make the world better. This is why government should be more powerful thn corporations. But legitimate government who seeks the betterment of humanity
-
I just wished we would make decisions as a society that werent based on self serving lies
-
Elite pact with the populous
-
The elite as a way to deflect from their activity and the outcomes, they are happy to talk about racism, feminism and lgbt issues because as long as we are focused on them we are not focused on them and what there part in the situation really is
-
The lies from the top that support the wealthy and have us all competing is a major factor for why we can't mobilise together like we are capable of only when an outside threat is attcking.
-
The power of the elite has been proving itself more illegitement as the years pass.
-
The problem with sitting down at the table with rich fucks to mash out a deal is that their whole modus opeerandi is to take as much as they can get from the situation which leads them to lie and manipulate their way through any deal. We live in a society where all ultrarich people at the top are conmen or alternatively emloy the best conmen to do their bidding, which makes them con men by extension.
-
At the end of the day we don't really need rich people, we need smart, wise people
-
The self-serving nature of many in power is not even addressed in a psychological manner, to make those who wish to make a difference aware of their own nature in order to combat it
-
The aggressive nature of western society is just a distraction designed to make sure a better future is not possible. Because the players who benefit the most surely won't if we base our goals on improvement over wealth alone
-
The rich have to tell themselves they are worth what they take in order to minimise dissonance. This is why I think if you got them to speak honestly about their mental schema of the world it would be one of inherent superiority and righteousness. They are self server to justify the fact they serve themselves. If they saw things for how they really are they would have to confront the fact that their place is illegitimate and recognise the parasitic nature of their being.
-
The rich really are the problem because they can't see past their own culture of self-serving lies. There is also a problem where those who know what is transpiring is unhealthy, dare not stick their head up and perhaps lose what they have gained
-
Every rich family is waste of resources and could be replaced with a worker with the same role without the lavish lifestyle and support of a whole tribe of descended who need not add nothing, just sit back and suck on the teat of society
-
Too many people get caught up in the world of getting rich. It's easy to do. I have been caught up in that game. People need an income which is a major driver but it's also about wanting more and the status that comes with winning the game of making money. Too many people waste their time going down this path when they could be maximise their own utility and helping in ways that if they forgot the idea of becoming wealthy they can do a whole lot of good and make enough to get by
-
So much capital goes into providing really rich people with ultra lavish lifestyles. I can see that a company needs capital to maintain and grow. But what purpose does ultrawealthy individuals serve besides using riduculous amoung=ts of resources on private luxuries which could be public luxuries. You can argue that they provide capital for new enterprise. But that money wherever it is kept can provide be money for new enterprise. You could argue that them having won in the market are better at picking other winning, but could they not be utilised to pick winners without those resources actually being allocated to them. To spend money on things that may be self serving or not in the interest of society. People with massive wealth don't think like us. But do they actually think better, are they wiser. Do they think beyond the game itself. Do they see people as a commidity to be exploited for further self interest.
-
We should ask when looking at the ultra rich how do they contribute positively to society on a large scale besides ownership of businesses which make money. For all their wealth do they make a positive or negative impact on society besides PR, which is at the end of the day pure manipulation
-
Societies problems comes down to rich people wanting to much. It's far more the the have nots being jealous. It is about having resources allocated appropriately to do the things that need to be done and should be done
-
Corporations have done their best to frame arguments of the problems of consuption placed at the feet at individuals in society, and offloading their externalities
-
Out of all the industries in the modern world, the fossil fuel industry is by far the largest sector of society, they have disproportionate say over policy and direction and because their primary motives are driven by profit from fossil fuels the direction they have pushed society has been away from positive change and towards climate catastophe
-
Capitalism has the big advantage of being put into math through economics. What a great thing. I am ignorant of economics but I imagine that it is based on first principles that are no more nuanced than maximising profit, and successful exploitation of groups to benefit other groups. I imagine economists aren't mandarins who are impartial and are employed to manifest or account for optimal results in society. I imagine they seek to benifit through maximising their own capital and theirfore don't give us math that would prove the utility of other metrics outside the generation of wealth forthose in which they are employed.
-
People like Peter Theil can't see the porpose of society outside his own stake in the game. He reasons through what would maximise benifits to him and not whether those benifits are healthy as a whole
-
What is the point of a rich society and all the retorick envolved in making our society richer. If the average person can't live a life not totally consumed by worry about finances. This is a built in flaw in the system so we don't have the mental space to activiely improve our conditions.
-
England, like America, and Australia has a growing element of the country that believes the outgroup outside the homeneny is the cause of their conditions. The reality it is that capital is being increasingly drawn to the to with larger and larger profits being shared by fewer and fewer
-
Most of us don't need more, we just need adequate public services, a place to go outside the house that isn't toxic. Civil society has disappeared and been replaced by capitalist enterprise where all their is to do when you leave the house is buy shit
-
The drivers make many unhappy. We can do better. It's as simple as that. But the prevailing ideologies don't allow for thinking outside a range which is set by those who benifit most
-
While I believe business is a necessary part of society. It;s like having to poo is part of being human. At the end of the day their is a stench to it.
-
We are taught in the capitalist system that wealth is a measure of worth, that having more things is proof of utility. While this need for more frive economies and growth it creates classes of people who are vapid and souless. People think that the right purchase will solve their internal dynamics, but it doesn't. In general it just creates more problems. We all need stuff to live a lifestyle which has a certain level of comfort. But everything outside of that is just adistraction from the path of becoming.
-
I was recently watching YouTube as I regularly do. I watched one video that stated that there are studies that show that immigration does not cause wages to fall. And if it does the amount is negligible. Then I watch another video of a more right-leaning guy who has his head around history and reads a lot saying that immigration causes wages to fall. It is so hard to disseminate the truth. Both speakers were intelligent, and knowledgable and aren’t like many of the speakers on the internet that push agendas and in doing so create false narratives to back up their agendas. I have recently been humbled because I have gotten more perspective on how limited my knowledge is and how I make certain assumptions that now seem flawed. I get it now when they say we are living in a post-truth era and it goes beyond one side lying and the other telling the truth.
-
One of the problems I have with the lefts critic of the right on youtube is that they use humour as a vehicle for their narratives. This may attract a certain veiwer but would keep away people on the right who have no sense of humour from watching and learning the truth about the false narratives of the right side of politics.
-
Comedian above all people can spot and deconstruct bullshit. But using their comedic chops to unpack all their messages makes light of the serious nature of some of these topics. This is not to say humour doesn't have it's place, only that people who could learn most from the message would be unaware of the irony it is wrapped in.
-
Television could of created a better world. Instead it maximised profits, sold us stuff, sold us half-truths, and sold us down the river.
-
Television is so sacrin, false and narcisistic. All shine and gloss with no depth or meaning besides the hidden agendas of service to the rich.
-
TV should be more like a counselling session with less judgement and more care, it should focus on the underlying issues and make the public informed and should spend more time educating than distracting and enforcing unhealthy societal structures
-
You only have to look at the quality of our journalists and our politicians to know that these people will not do the right thing if it is a threat totheir carrer advancement. They are beholden to masters. Not the right thing, not the optimal thing, not logic
-
The media are subserviant cunts who punish anyone who bites the hand that feeds them.
-
The difference is that before the internet big buisiness had a monolopoly on the media, so people were less informed on matters that people in power didn't want you to know about. But know people are aware of the constant lies and bullshit being fed to us and they want honesty. But instead the public are getting even more distorted narrative to explain the actions of those with power. Everything can be explained through the lense of status, greed and the protection of interests. Instead uneducated people who realise they are being fed half-truths and distortions are flocking to narratives of easy palitable good and evil stories. Where the elite want to do harm to the populus.
-
The TV does nothing to help individuals become better people, and that is a great shame.
-
I like that in a capitalist society you can throw ideas out there that can be generative through profit. It is somewhat meritocratic. Except for the part where wealth is only allocated through that system meaning those with existing connections and capital are the gate keepers to many of the people who have the engenuity to create something generative.
-
I have not read Carl Marx, but I mean to. I have feared ingesting it that I may fall prey to some spell cast on me by the book. I don't believe in communism. I believe in mixed economies, everything else is just extremism. Atleast until we have adequate algorithms around appropriate reward. To me the communist system would be like how community services is now. Less about results and more about the perception of result and covering your own back. Where winners are decided by King Makers and not the results of your input, where politics rules over doing the right thing, or the smart thing. I believe in economic transition where certain aspects of the free market be put in public hands because it will function better that way for society, because what do the shareholder really offer. They offerthe squeezing out of profits at all expenses including externalities and creating a private face where gread and malice rule, and a friendly public face for society to reflect on and be encouraged by. It's a big old lie, a fraud to make those who have capital richer without expending energy on contribution past the direction of their own self-interest.
-
The amount of money one human can make should be capped and fund boddies run by people who would be entrepreneur can allocate capital on behalf of the bodies
-
I believe that society should have a multitude of ways of setting up entities, including ones not owned by anyone. Not even the stakeholders. That are run by people who a voted in by an informaed section of the public
-
I do believe a man should be able to work for himself or for someone else, but with protections to make sure that man is not being taken advantage of by those in the game of personal enrichment
-
The major problem with the world is that when it comes to war a lot of people believe it takes two to tango but it really only takes one bad actor to ruin any form of peace
-
If we continue to live through the lens that those with the most power get the greatest share of rewards we will fail. Humanity will fail.
-
People all around the world through access to information are becoming more caring, more human, less brutal, less selfish. This provides vulnerabilities for those who don't take the path of growth and care to exploit. We should become less warlike, less muscley, more thoughtful, this is good. But it does create vulnerabilities that those who will never learn. To use the skills of brutality to try and make sure we don't progress passed the mindset of waring tribes.
-
We can't transend our own shortcomings through manipulation and subjugation
-
American leaders had the ability to make the world a better place, instead they told lies and lined their pockets.
-
The result of divided nations, are a result of chickens coming home to roost in regards to the manipulation of the populace.
-
hyper-individualism - personal responsibility, collective responsibilityqual opportunity is a lie - structures are to blamenot to explain the world but to control itdo humans have unlimited desiresdigital resources
-
America could lead the world to a new age but they are too caught upin business as usual, along with having a stupid person problem caused by misinformation on the right desperately trying to cling to christian values desprately out of touch with what is needed to take us forward.
-
For all my dislike of American policy, I'd pick America over China simply because atleast you can speak the truth in America. No one will listen, but you can speak the truth.
-
When we are at war we all go right wing in a way because it becomes an us vs them. This is why war is so distructive and why the elite use war to keep us from solving problems as a collective by doing what is optimal and just plain doing the right thing
-
Is using power over reason an illegitimate form of expression that causes tireny and oppression. If power is a force is it the optimal one. Are their other forces which are far more rational and reasonable
-
Maybe I totally misunderstand the nature of power and how it works, the question I want to know is if power is a valid form of coming to a conclusion. Is it manipulation to get more than you would have it the ground was level and optimal conclusions are made that benefit all parties
-
Countries should be allowed to run their economes any way they see fit. As long as what they see fit is not based on the views of the ignorant or the few wishing to cement power for themselves
-
Humanity will never overcome it is to choose war over peace.
-
I learnt about the law of unintended consequences through Jordan Peterson. When implementing changes to society or a system, there are always unknown consequences. Not because that was the objective but because by trying to achieve an objective, humans or nature reacted in an unpredictable way.
-
Growth is not a worthy metric for society as it takes from future generations and creates excess energy consumption
-
The invisible hand of the market is visible because it's covered in shit from having that hand lodged firmly up societies own arsehole
-
Their are a million ways to insentivise growth. Yet we seemed to think the only method is by making the rich even more rich, so they can create new oportunities for themselves.
-
One dollar can buy more than one dollars worth of stuff. It depends on how often you can reclaim that dollar commercially.
-
Society need to be sustainable. Growth is not realistic in a finite dream and is the wet dream of the rich elite
-
Continual improvement over growth
-
Their aren't many big picture politions with bold visions of a better future in our political systems, we are attrofied because everyone has been busy inside the game instead of quetioning the purpose and utility of such a game
-
The nordic countries pay their fucking fair share of tax. The greed at the top of countries like amaerica and australia impovorishes the country greatly
-
It's quite obvious at this stage that neoliberal policies inacted in the seventies and eightees have failed us as societies. But have done exactly what they were designed to do, enrich those who already have much and cement control over countries in their hands
-
The Trumps, The Morrisons, and the johnsons are incongruent with any healthy future society. The people who support them really don't have full faculty over their own thinking
-
We need far more red tape. We need to bind those would seek personal gain over every other need in society.
-
We need to have a class of human that is provide with house, food and a stipent and their job is simply to think and provide insights without getting caught up in the culture of wanting more. A set of Mandarin's detached from any games of personal gain, in order to provide insight that is not tainted by a masters will or want, or form of cultural ideology that forms when groups think as one to promote their own success
-
A randomly selected group of people from 10% of the most intelligent in the population. Would by far do a better job of governing than the cronies elected in America. If they did this tommorrow. You would see immediate change for the better.
-
The nordic countries are better because there is a level of thought and honesty that gose into it's governance
-
Society won't become better until governing bodies can take something from someone who is misusing, using it to take unfair advantage or don't desrve it
-
I used to think a populist leader would be a good thing, giving the masses what they need. But a populist leader doesn’t give the population what they need. They give them an enemy to blame.
-
Populist leaders are con-jobs
-
I spent many years in battle with the idea of whether to maximise my usefulness and creativity or to maximise my earning potential in order to have a larger impact with my utility. I came to realise that if I lived with only essentials and didn't go for the best I could focus solely on my endevours of utility. Many are not in my situation that allows for that. And so they try and win the game. Surely there are thousends of ways we can structure our societies outside the dicotomy of Capitalism and Communism
-
I believe that if we put our minds to tinkering with our models of society and the types of organised labour we can live without poverty and flourish without the need for growth, or more importantly the destruction of the existing system for another. Our biggest problem is getting people who make the decisions working for the greater good and not on their own personal legacy and enrichment. If we work together we can move mountains.
-
Governments should be more powerful than corporations and governments should be creative and intelligent and not driven by self-interest
-
The public sector are great innovators, but the public don't get the fruits of that inovation to the full extent because it is offloaded into private hands in order for wealthy donors to benifit dispropionately from those innovations
-
Those who fit themselves within the parameters of the system’s culture, and don’t look for what’s right, but what it is that will help them advance; are often rewarded for it. And those who are contrarian, who speak of the errors and misgivings of the culture are often ignored and even punished.
-
Creating changes to a system can be not only unpredictable but also downright bad. Just look at the former Soviet Union as an example.
-
The reason humans can't mobilise and deal with large problems is simply because our heart are distorted. We et greed win the day and these are the results.
-
The doogooders arn't the problem, it's how easy it is to be misguided as a doogooder, to put your eggs in baskets that don't generate better outcomes
-
It seems the world is stuck needing arseholes. Their purpose is to deal with other arseholes. So who are these arseholes. People who don't give a shit about heart, or fairness, or doing the right thing. They don't care about the world becoming better or more. They care about them, and if anyone else just ones in their tribe. They just want to take and exploit as much as they can. To maximise personal happiness and status. These are the people who stop the world from progressing to a better state. That's why they are arseholes.
-
I no longer believe in revolution. I haven't for a while. Revolution creates vacuums of power that are filled by people who are good at filling vaccums of power. Not those who will make the right and worthy decisions which are needed to create a better society than the one which has fallen. I believe in reformations, change of the soul, changes of the hearts of the populous that lead to more adequate systems of governance. The power structures in the United States have entrenched themselves into a process where the seeming viable options don't allow for real reform and changes for the betterment. Australia, my country is structurally less entrenched in doctrines that serve the few because we have viable alternatives. America has done it's best as a nation to make alternatives unviable in the eyes of the public, and unwanted by many of their people. They are not a democracy in any real way. Australia is. But those on the right are using the American playbook to try and break that fluidity in our system and entrench the already entrenched power of the few. Men and women fight for this cause with never aving an original thought of their own. They are victims of the propaganda of past masters.

We see salesman as truth tellers, this is why we can't act together as societies for the betterment of mankind. It's always PR and pomp without genuine honesty and heart.

Christianity is veryy beneficial to the rich because it maintains that people be subordinate to authority and says little about how authority should be. It is a book written for slaves, not for their masters. That's why the rich elite use the bible as a tool to carry out self-serving agendas without having a book that actually admonishes anything they do that logic tells us is in fact parasitic and wrong
-
The Christians as a group have been manipulated politically since the seventies and because the teachings of the church do not manifest chritical thinking they have fallen for these tricks every step of the way. Now the Christians, once the proper and honest are now the nut jobs trying to derail democracy on behalf of the rich capitalists which created the conditions for their discontent. They have been fooled, but have to much pride to recognise it.
-
Just like modern Christianity has it's own distorted Ideology. So do the rich. And that ideology is a self-serving one that is not limitted by any form of conservation. It is an ideology of take and more. The invisible hand is up it's own arse.
-
Christian Ideology is based more on the distortions the rich have sold us as it is about anything Jesus taught.
-
How many of these rich capitalist elite in america are christian. Do they use the christian slave and master narrative to justify their action. Do they believe themselves righteous.
-
Christian politicians are essentially at war with the non-christian populus, wanting to oppress them because they believe themselves righteous and superior, even though they are just the puppets of the rich elite that align with them to manipulate them. They do not want to compromise with non christians . They believe there truth to be infallible therefor have not wiggle room in their own minds.
-
People who go into polotics from the church are not rational players, they are dogmatic and don't serve the wishes of the populos, let alone the church. They are moved by the agenda of the elite and are incapable of compromise on issues society has mostly moved n from. The reason these are the issues is that so not progress is made on the social front. Theirefore serving the interests of the elite. It is not a structure born out of enlightened thought, societal improvement or vision. Rather it is top down. They think they serve God but what they really serve is the interests of the elite who use Christian wedge issues as a tool to keep the Christians manipulated.
-
Many Christians including christians who wish to be involved in politics paradocically care little for the long term sustainability of our society, many going as far as wanting to speed up the dammage because this somehow equates to the destruction of this planet and the return of Jesus. Yet they want political control over the direction of our society even know ultimately having a boner for the destruction of it. I have listened to ministers say that our job as christians is not to change the world or be advocates for change as this is in Gods hands. Yet they vote for Christian leaders who seek Chrissendom. They want it both ways. It's not their problem. We have to be insular. But at the same time want control over the will over non-christians even though they do not care about the future of our planet, let alone our conditions. This is in reality because they are ot willing to go against heire=arch and don't believe in question authority if that authority has the christian stamp on it. A stamp which is a dubious and manipulative ploy from the elite. They are yes men, and even when given the highest positions of authority use the authority of the market for guidence. Most Christian politicians are shills who see themselves as doing gods work but really are just following a group narrative that has been manipulated since the 70's by the elite. They are not rational players in our society and should not be treated as such
-
You will not see a man with a framework of being in his head that is working and beneficial turn to Jesus as their saviour. It is those who don't know anything else and have been brought up on the bible who turn to Jesus. Or those who's frameworks of being have failed that and have not already turned to something else which works for them.
-
Believing is God is a great comfort and can be a great benefit to the individual, and he could exist in some form or another, some higher pressence. The odds are incalculable. A belief in God doesn't automatically imply that the Bible is the word of God or that Jesus is his Son. While it is still incalulable whether this is true. You could say that if God was true, the odds of the bible being true are far less. You need God to make the Bible treue or Jesus the true son of God. But it doesn't work the other way. It makes less odds that the bible is true because it's logic doesn't hold up to what we know through the last five hundred years of development. This does not mean we know the bible is not the word of God. But it make the odds of that fact even more unlikely. You can say that God doesn't exist because theirs no definitive proof of it. but the only proof he doesn't exist is that their is no definative proof. Which leaves open for narratives as to why that is beyond because their isn't one. But the odds that God is the God in the Old Testiment is less likely but still possible. It is less likely because God has less than great human characteristics which would make him a very flawed individual which is less than likely. I'm talking about negative characteristics like brutality, anger and jealousy. And he is stated to be all knowing yet he is suprised by the Jews behaviours, and punishes them harshly. He comes across as a narcistic tyrant on one level and an all caring loving, omnipotent being on the other. He doesn't come acroos as overly wise, which is what you'd expect from the people at the time of the old testimets inseption. Some people would see this writing as a slight against God. But I see God as someone who would know me better than I know my self, and knows my heart. So I trust his wisdom because my assumption is that he'd be correct. Unlike the version of God written into the Bible.
-
The best ministers are the ones that have come to Jesus, but still failed and hit rock bottom. Those ministers if they stay with Jesus as truth develop powerful and useful ways of thinking that is not available to those who have been in the church and not failed in a way where they had to rebuild their framework while staying faithful. They are more honest and articulate and incorporate some of what we have learned in the last fivehundred years into their interpretation of the bible.
-
Some of what is interpreted by christians as true by following the bible has proved to be false. That's why a lot of Christian scientist go against prevailing narrative about what we know through the scientific method. It's because they are trying to shoehorn their christian narratives into the picture of what they know.
-
The aliens are giving us time to sort our own shit out, to develop as individuals

Even the most dyed in the cloth athiest that believes in nothing but material reality has some sort of superstitious element to his imagination and thought process. Some element of magical thinking. It's just what we are. We can break free of it to an existent, but elements of that kind of thinking are benificial to existence. But when balanced with a healthy dose of reality based thinking makes us more rounded and grounded. And keeps us tethered to our own humaness. If we are extreme in our beliefs abour the world being of a material nature we don't become more human, we become less and even though we deny all magical thinking it is still there in the way we see ourselves and the way we manage our existence.
-
We're all a little superstitious, some a lot more so. We can never be 100% sure reality is just plain jane. And sometimes things happen which make us believe there must be some magic in the air, and that can provide us with hope and comfort. But as we grow and learn those who use a more reality based framework for their thinking are at an advantage as long as their frame of refrence is not to bleak or stale or oversanitised or inhuman. All these tints on our reality make us less than our full capacity. The extremes on the other end regarding thinking which is otherworldly mostly obsures our reality and while providing us with comfort also hold us back from reaching our potential. While in this state we can see things as more and greater including ourselves it distracts from what is really going on around us and in our head, leading us to make less than optimal choices for ourselves, our family and others.
-
The Christians are betting on Jesus returning and destroying the earth and they will have a better world. They don't care about protecting this one. It can't be underestimated how much degredation and manipulation has been caused all over the globe due to this mindset. It has to be rooted out of our society.
-
An old jewish proverb is "Jesus will come when he's no longer needed". God wants us to sort our own shit out, not bury our heads in the sand

The Bible wouldn't be as successful as it is if it didn't cover some really positive shit for human beings to know

A true Christian leader is one that has tried and failed. One that has gotten his life into such a mess, he has to change what it means to practice the faith. All good ministers have fallen. The rest are just an amalgam of what they think a good follower of Christ should look like.
-
Good pastor’s have fallen and change their thinking in response
-
I believe that society should have a multitude of ways of setting up entities, including ones not owned by anyone. Not even the stakeholders. That are run by people who a voted in by an informaed section of the public
-
I do believe a man should be able to work for himself or for someone else, but with protections to make sure that man is not being taken advantage of by those in the game of personal enrichment
-
What if we taxed the rich appropriately so we can improve society? Just kidding, I vote liberal. Society can rot as far as I'm concerned, I'll just build a bigger fence.
-
I'm a leftie, but I don't want more. I don't feel I deserve more. I don't think I need more. What I've got is plenty. I just want public money and assets to be spent wisely to make a happy, healthy, sustainable society. I don't think the rich need more land, bigger houses or more expensive yachts. Fuck em. They should be happy with what they have got too.
-
If rich people weren't superior to us, why do they know how to dodge taxes, exploit loopholes and be better at capitalism when we can't? If you can lie and cheat your way to a larger climate footprint, then you deserve it. We might all be going to die because of them, but don't forget that they are superior.
-
Can't wait 'til Jesus returns. I'll be like, in your face science.
-
I don't like people who are anti-science. Science tells the truth about our world. Take crystals, some people think they have magical powers, but they don't realise that some crystals have a dark energy that has a negative effect on your well-being. It's all about finding the right crystals.
-
I heard the scientists had done some modelling. So I did some of my own modelling out of clay. Climate change isn't real.
-

I wish we could be more like one of those nordic countries that look after each other. Maybe it's because we have more idiots in our country, or maybe it's the cold weather. Maybe it's because santa is close by. Who knows?
-
I believe that if we put our minds to tinkering with our models of society and the types of organised labour we can live without poverty and flourish without the need for growth, or more importantly the destruction of the existing system for another. Our biggest problem is getting people who make the decisions working for the greater good and not on their own personal legacy and enrichment. If we work together we can move mountains.

Society won't become better until governing bodies can take something from someone who is misusing, using it to take unfair advantage or don't desrve it

Their are a million ways to insentivise growth. Yet we seemed to think the only method is by making the rich even more rich, so they can create new oportunities for themselves.

What if neoliberalism is actually the best system of governance? Just kidding, it's a scam to help the rich.

How many problems are being caused by capitalists punishing societies that look after their people by looking to place in the globalised market where they can maximise exploitation for the sake of competition. This could be of course remidied by good policy.

Society need to be sustainable. Growth is not realistic in a finite dream and is the wet dream of the rich elite

Growth is not a worthy metric for society as it takes from future generations and creates excess energy consumption

The bourgeois need to get a new name for themselves. I'm not even sure I'm pronouncing' it right.
-
The beauty of the modern world, the modern capitalist world is amazing if you have the right mindset so you aren't constantly taken by the pitfalls of a consumerist culture where your job is a status symbol. This in no way means that we can plow ahead on this course and assume things will not deteriorate. Unfettered consumption in a world of finite resources is unsustainable

In many ways like most people I love the USA. But their systems contain terrible role models and there is plenty other other people in the world who want to emulate them as if it's the gold standard and not completely cancerous
-
Maybe I totally misunderstand the nature of power and how it works, the question I want to know is if power is a valid form of coming to a conclusion. Is it manipulation to get more than you would have it the ground was level and optimal conclusions are made that benefit all parties

How many people truly think these days that living a virtuous honest existence, one built on personal development is the best approach to life, for most this is not the path or even recognise this is the best path to take, which it certainly is

The biggest obstacle to moving in the right direction, is the idea in many peoples minds that we can't , that it is useless and we should just sit back and watch the shitshow unfold without putting skin in the game, if not even looking to take the same scurry for advantage while rome burns.

Society will never flourish if we a beholden to the killers and the takers. Undermining their power is the greatest good.

-
Culture is driven by oppression. To be non-cultured, optimised with a universilist mindset. That is not to say their are not good elements of culture that should be ignored or dismissed only that some have value and others hold us back. Those who identify highly with their culture and do not base their values on how valueble they are to the flourishing of not only the group but life in general.

-
I wish it was a lot easier to point out stupidity and ignorance in our society. But the people beholden to that ignorance are bolstered by a wealthy class of people who mainain false truths simply in order to protect their own interests. One man might know the lie behind the propaganda, his predicessor might be convicted by the same knowledge making him a zealot of his fathers cunning and manipulation.

An ignorant population does not benefit the country it resides in. It only benifits those who wish to take advantage.

Any marginised group in society that want to be a part of society on an equal footing is deserving and is right in fighting for that. But by siloing the different groups the impact is not as powerful than if we we all fighting the causes of this injustice

Real problem solvers are discouraged and sidelined in our society because their are interest that don't want certain aspects of society questioned , let alone solved.

-
There is plenty of people with less than average intelligence with their shit together. The problem with having less than average intelligence and not having your shit together, is that you're less likely to try and learn how to get your shit together. Because the obsticles a bit higher you don't try to clear it.

-
Facebook as a platform could really make a difference. And they do, but not always in a good way.
-
Facebook is a crime. They have an opportunity with their platform to do so much good and to get people active in ways that benefit society. Their focus on profit over people has caused so much harm it’s unfathomable.

We should not assume that technlogy will save us, we have improve on an indivividual level and put human becoming and personal growth at the top of our agendas to create a better tomorrow

You could put the nordics systems of government down to many things they have in their favour, but above all it's common sense and a sense of community among their countrymen that drives a system that works for the people taking into account the environment.

It's such a great shame that the kids born with the biggest lead in life get to attend the best most well funded schools. There parents are so busy making money that that relinquish the care of the child to the school. That's where they learn to become entitled cunts.
-
It would be interesting to do a study on intelligent hardworking 40 year olds who either went to a private school or public school. Given a decent enough sample size would the private school kids be more motivated by image and perception, and displays of status unrelated to their own unique qualities compared to the public school kids. Would the public school kids be more down to earth, real and genuine as compared to the cunts whos parents had the money to send them to a special school for rich kids.

Rather than a year ofF after young men aND WOMEN FINISH SCHOOL I PROPOSE A YEAR ON WHERE THEY LEARN about themselves and how to be a genuine, stable, useful and kind individual that is not plagued by the folly of a mind that does not know itself. Through understanding their psychology they can dive head first into life knowing they won't hit there head at the bottom of a shallow pool of their own ignorance. A university of sorts where you learn psychology and principles of the mind, not to become a psychologist or work in the mental health industry but to ensure you don't spend the first decade of your life being a dick making dick moves that hurt you, the people around you and society at large

As someone who doesn't pay much tax and is supported by the population, I reckon appropriate taxation is the cornerstone of a healthy nation and those who have a lot should pay a lot because they are left with a lot. But as I said I don't really pay any taxes, but I do pick up bits of rubbish when I'm feeling community-minded
-
do you think people who have a little more than others imagine that the system works fine because they've had the luck of being one of its success stories, my wife is still trying to make her art career happen, I'm a better artist than her and I'm a plumber.
-
ads by big business would have you thinking they are putting the needs of society first, but don't be fooled, their goal is to maximise profits and if doing the right thing is not in line with the maximising of profits, then it will not do the right thing unless forced to, a strong government not beholden to corporate interests is the best way to ensure big business does the right thing, because they will not do it if it affects its margins. having corporations make decisions for people is a percersion, the people who don't have vested interests are the only ones that, are able to do the right things. and the right thing is important. So important I got it tattooed on my arm so I don't forget.
-
inequality is the lifeblood of America, It lets those who don't have much know that they are unworthy of it
-
inequality gets worse the more we lean towards the American model as the bottom grows in number and the top grows in wealth, the right lead this charge, they see the American model as the gold standard and not for what it is, a rigged system, one that creates just as much harm as it does good compared to its potential, that's why if I ever meet one of these neoliberal politicians, I'm going to curse them with this magical amulet I found in the forest of no-return, which I managed to return from by the way, it really wasn't that hard, I just came out on the same path I went in. And no I didn't see any unicorns.
-
Inequality is Gods way of telling black people and people who lack character that they are wrong. I'm not a Nazi, but hitler had some good points, I masturbate to pictures of the black women, that doesn't mean they deserve to be treated like us.
-
As an American on welfare who can't afford healthcare for my dying kid, I feel blessed that we have a chance to strike it rich in our country and become a billionaire myself, I'm working on an app that allows you to put different shaped dicks on family photos.
-
Right wing thinkers are particularly tied to status through hierarchy, although it is intrinsic to all of us.
-
Hawks are by their very nature right wing thinkers
-
Even bad guys don't believe their bad, at the very least they have to rationalise every one else is too.
-
the left punches up, the right punches down
-
Some types of people through their upbringing and natural tendendencies are better suited to different roles in society, that does not mean that the options should not be their for them if they so wish to undertake them, only that it shoud be clear of what certain roles in societty need of the individual
-
We need to allocate those jobs to those who are capable of making optima decisions , this is why politician shoud have processes to select for qualities that allow for decisions to be made that are optimal for society and on a larger scale humanity
-
We need all types of people in our society, he problem we have is we don't delinate the values of different types of people.
-
Right wing speakers like Ben shapiro are incapable of real growth and reflection because they believe themselves to be true arbitores of wisdom, theirfore never changing their beliefs, just reinforcing them
-
anti-illectualism - At the heart of right wing thing is anti-intellectualism and the subjugated mind, where all truth are known and only need to be understood
-
To the criminal the truth doesn't matter, to the fundamentalist the truth has been given from god and is written in stone, to the elite the truth is a quasi structure of what is right but only through the lense of creating legitimacy for their own place in society.
-
I feel for the gay community and what they have to put up with. They deserve better. Living in a country town, I've seen firsthand how nasty people can be. But things are changing for the better. People are able to be themselves. Except in churches and at National Party get-togethers.
-
Women should burn their bras like they did in the sixties when they burned their bras. But this time it's about equal pay and climate change.
-
I am definitely an advocate of full equality. But just for the whites, we have to stick together.
-
If you want to know what I think, I think they should all go back to their own bloody country.
-
I'm all for women's rights, but. I'm not racist, but. I'm all for gays doing what they want in the privacy of there own home, but. These are the signs.
-
The right support the takers, the takers support the right.
-
The right are more driven by fear.
-
The news is bullshit. No-one will talk about the lizard people.
-
Logical scepticism holds people back from going down the necessary rabbit holes to believe the world is run by Satanists who eat babies. Instead, they believe stuff like corporations have too much power and their only motivation is to maximise profit, even if that means doing damage to society and doing the wrong thing. It's not greed and corporate power and the elite's role in protecting their own interests. It's about pedophiles who are in league with the dark one. I only read nonsense, pseudo-quackery that sounds true, and join all the dots. That's why I know conservative leaders, preferably Christians who punish the weak and the poor and enable big business, are the truth, the light and the way.
-
People used to believe a lot of bullshit things. Apparently, believing nonsense is back in fashion.
-
The future is looking so bleak, people want to live in the past, with measles.
-
First, they came for our freedoms. Then they came to give us vaccines. Next they'll come for our freedoms.
-
There's a direct correlation between people who are anti-vax and people who believe in magic.
-
God only saves those who can afford health care.
-
As a Christian, I have a lot of care for other Christians. The rest of society can burn in hell unless they put Jesus in their heart. That's why I vote for the Libs. They understand not everyone matters.
-
The meek shall inherit the earth once they stop being so meek. Come on guys, get it together.
-
It's so sad that the rich take advantage of the ignorance of the lower classes. They know they are almost as easy to manipulate as the Christians.
-
The elite as a way to deflect from their activity and the outcomes, they are happy to talk about racism, feminism and lgbt issues because as long as we are focused on them we are not focused on them and what there part in the situation really is
-
The lies from the top that support the wealthy and have us all competing is a major factor for why we can't mobilise together like we are capable of only when an outside threat is attcking.
-
The power of the elite has been proving itself more illegitement as the years pass.
-
The problem with sitting down at the table with rich fucks to mash out a deal is that their whole modus opeerandi is to take as much as they can get from the situation which leads them to lie and manipulate their way through any deal.
-
The policy has always been, keep the people stupid. Well, the chickens are coming home to roost.
-
Poor people are just a drain on the system. We'd shoot them all, but then who would make our burgers?
-
The rich and the poor are in cahoots. It's just the poor aren't aware of it.
-
The problem with poor people is that they're poor. The problem with rich people is that they're rich. We really should look at fixing these problems.
-
People like Peter Theil can't see the porpose of society outside his own stake in the game. He reasons through what would maximise benifits to him and not whether those benifits are healthy as a whole
-
Out of all the industries in the modern world, the fossil fuel industry is by far the largest sector of society, they have disproportionate say over policy and direction and because their primary motives are driven by profit from fossil fuels the direction they have pushed society has been away from positive change and towards climate catastophe
-
TV should be more like a counselling session with less judgement and more care, it should focus on the underlying issues and make the public informed and should spend more time educating than distracting and enforcing unhealthy societal structures
-
You only have to look at the quality of our journalists and our politicians to know that these people will not do the right thing if it is a threat totheir carrer advancement.
-
The amount of money one human can make should be capped and fund boddies run by people who would be entrepreneur can allocate capital on behalf of the bodies
-
Everyone's divided and in their own little information silos, which makes it very hard for change to be initiated. As a wealthy person, this is good news all around.
-
If only the upper-crust used their power for good instead of evil.
-
Everyone blames the rich for the stuff that they do. But what about the poor people? If they want full employment and a decent wage, they better suck arse as I do.
-
A true Christian leader is one that has tried and failed. One that has gotten his life into such a mess, he has to change what it means to practice the faith. All good ministers have fallen. The rest are just an amalgam of what they think a good follower of Christ should look like.
-
Even the most dyed in the cloth athiest that believes in nothing but material reality has some sort of superstitious element to his imagination and thought process.
-
The best ministers are the ones that have come to Jesus, but still failed and hit rock bottom.
-
Christian politicians are essentially at war with the non-christian populus, wanting to oppress them because they believe themselves righteous and superior, even though they are just the puppets of the rich elite that align with them to manipulate them. They do not want to compromise with non christians . They believe there truth to be infallible therefor have not wiggle room in their own minds.
-
Every country should be taking radical steps to offset the dammage they cause to the environment, including the atmosphere
-
Wilful ignorance and the protection of interests must be overcome in order to right the ship
-
The rich have to tell themselves they are worth what they take in order to minimise dissonance.
-
I wouldn't be so hard on stupid people if they started voting in their own interests instead of those who fool them.
-
Capitalism has the big advantage of being put into math through economics.
-
Corporations have done their best to frame arguments of the problems of consuption placed at the feet at individuals in society, and offloading their externalities
-
Ask yourself, what is wiser. To act on climate change even if the worst outcomes are not as predicted. Or to not act and take the chance that the worst predictions are in fact the reality.
-
The right acquiess to a dominance hierarchy where those higher in the hierarchy should not be questioned. And those at the top of that hierarchy also believe they should not be questioned and their place in the hierarchy proves their infallability and their right to lead
-
the right don't take on their team. The right won't correct or go against the tribe unless what they are argueing against is an alignment away from the prevailing narratives.
-
The rights logical reasoning is faulty because it is driven by the amigdala and their pre-frontal cortex is underdeveloped
-
The left wing of citizen journalism uses the type of crass humour that stop the people on the right . the people that need to hear it from consuming it.
-
Does society want to be good.
-
The bottom line is society needs food shelter community and a chance to grow as individuals
-
Doing the right thing for everyone is hard when you're in a group because you end up focussed on doing right by the group, and rarely is the groups goals focused on it's primary mission, the gtroups culture endsup defining it's motivations.
-
If you are brought up to have certain beliefs based on your tribe and are not enabled to reason and come to your own conclusions, therefore developing your frontal cortexes reasoning skills, your ability to make good decisions will be based on how much your tribes beliefs reflect reality and prosociality.
-
People will happily lie to support their tribe. This is why truth and honesty aren't at the forfront of all societies ales.
-
Most men are too weak to fight structures that benefit them.
-
Some people think their opinions are infallable.
-
Until you properly educate your mind with useful frameworks of thought and knowledge. You thought and therefore your spoken words and your written words will have a low resolution, vague to your expression that will resemble more art and poetry than high resolution analysis. You might think you are creation equations that explain, predict and fix everything, but what your doing is creating an abstract image that looks pretty but does not resemble reality.
-
School should teach on character, and the problems faced when you have poor values.

Those in the oil industry that have used their power to create dislogic in society should have everything taken from them. Their is no way of justifying those lies in the face of the downfall of humanity for the sake of justifying profits, unless you're a victim of that mis-information and concurr with it
-
Humans are not rational players, they seek to maximise their own benefit when not making logical reasonable calculations, but these calculations aare a learned behaviour. They can also make fair rational descition when they exclude their own reward from the equation, when they are impartial, and think in a universal ot tribal way. Humans will maximise value for themselves and their tribe if they are tribal and the baseline for the tribe is to do so.
-
Countries should have autonomy but with a set of global rules designed to protect individual states from ther states and the players within those states
-
Society is not doing enough to combat the atomisation of society. People are increasingly becoming more isolated. There are advantages to those who don't want people actively working for a better tomorrow being disconnected from each other and fighting in their own silos as looking at the core ssues that create the conditions for these other important issues to occur
-
The United States is built on false values which they uphold on one hand as a show of righteousness and on the other it has used ever dirty trick in the book against other countries and it's own people. #FakeCulture

inequality, corporate interests, the right, republicans, people have no say, medical system, coos in other countries, Chicago group, think tanks, the rich, decline of the empire, empire

The government should tax themselves for being dicks

School is a waste of time, all you learn is knowledge, not how to kit out your car.
-
We'd have a lot less nulshit posted on facebook if everyone had to do a test on critical thinking and everyone's score is plastered over their profile picture
-
To combat people being mislead on the internet. Schools should focus on teaching kids how to think critically, although I don't know how well that would go down in catholic and Christian schools who want their students to believe in the validity of the bible
-
I would hope people learn at UNI to know themselves, but really it should be taught at high school for people like me who didn't get a good enough grade to go to uni
-
While we all use magical reasoning.
-
the right are incapable of laughing at themselves, because they don't have the self awareness to realise their own hipocracy
-
The right defines everything in a hierarchy, the things at the top of the hierarchy are not to be questioned or ridiculed or be the subject of humour
-
A randomly selected group of people from 10% of the most intelligent in the population. Would by far do a better job of governing than the cronies elected in America. If they did this tommorrow. You would see immediate change for the better.
-
We need far more red tape. We need to bind those would seek personal gain over every other need in society.
-
I'd prefer to live in a capitalist structure, then one where you are mandated to work in the sugar mines.
-
Is using power over reason an illegitimate form of expression that causes tireny and oppression. If power is a force is it the optimal one. Are their other forces which are far more rational and reasonable
-
I care as much for my garden as America cares for its people.
-
People all around the world through access to information are becoming more caring, more human, less brutal, less selfish.
-
I get the feeling most people must think doing the right thing in a position of power is a joke for suckers.
-
If society was more creative and focussed on doing the right thing and getting things done with people doing what they can we would be far happier and more connected.
-
If we continue to live through the lens that those with the most power get the greatest share of rewards we will fail. Humanity will fail.
-
You can't have any true vision for the future if your first principles are self serving and misguided
-
If we are not capable of more and of better our survival is just not a realistic posability.

-
Ignorance is a state of mind and not a genetic disorder.
-
Some people can be intelligent and have no ethics whatsoever.

Holidays are a waste of resources which should be a once in a lifetime thing, use zoom jerks
-
Passed times like speed boats and car racing are a waste of resources
-
What is the purpose of billion dollar yaughts besides wasting resources so a few can externalise special moments instead of working on themselves and be happy within themselves
-
What about all these people who go to uni to learn about climate change and fill their heads full of nonsense when they don't even know how to skin and gut a sheep.
-
School should be a two tear system, one for the kids who want to excel and be tested. And the other who want to learn practical thing and grow their own way without having your nose rubbed into the fact that your the worst in your class at math, because you don't give a shit and you don't want your nose rubbed in it.
-
The number one priority for schools should be teaching students the difference between good information and information that will lead them to believe the world is run by lizard people.
-
Teachers are undervalued in our society, they have to put up with so much shit. They should get twelve weeks off a year.
-
Home schooling is my way of ensuring my kids stay ignorant enough to believe everything in the bible on face value.
-
The US is a beacon of democracy for the world, where you can vote for change and it doesn't make a shit of difference!
-
There's only one thing certain in life: Death and Taxes. Tell that to the big corporations that get away with not paying any.
-
I think the world would be a lot richer if massive amounts of wealth weren't being stored in private citizens' bank accounts. The world would be so much better off if we taxed people appropriately and removed the avenues for them to go about avoiding paying taxes.
-
Everyone should pay some form of tax, if it's not money it should be time if you are capable. I'd like to make art for my country.
-
How can we pick on those who avoid work if at the same time rich people can avoid paying taxes. One earns nothing, the other earns heaps, both don't contribute. Unless the rich corporation employs people but that's another argument.
-
Why can people in some countries feel like they are doing their bit by paying taxes, while in other countries the person might be paying less tax but act like they're getting shafted. Maybe because the roads are shit in that country.
-
We need to tax landlords on a progressive rate based on land size and occupation so they can't screw renters over. My landlord has three properties and sits around watching porn all day.
-
If, as humans, we all focused on one or two big problems at a time, we could turn a lot of shit around. Instead of being driven in a new direction each day by the media cycle, we could all focus on a problem and deal with it. But there would always be some cunt that twists it in an article about satanist enslaving children in their underground sugar mines and the plan to make things better is all part of the Satanist's plan to make things worse, then it would be spread on social media and all the stupid people would stand against it.
-
I can't believe everyone believes in all these far out conspiracy theories. The truth is, they are spread by the ruling elite to keep us distracted and blaming each other.
-
Why the rich feel the way that they do.
-
Imagine if your grades at school were in the bottom 25% of everyone in your year at school. Then imagine growing up to know better than the top scientists in their field. Now imagine there are lots of people, say 10% of the population who perform poorly when tested but still are able to correct and refute the top minds who study these topics their whole adult lives. Now imagine if that 10% of people shut their stupid faces and got on with their lives. Would society be better for it? Most definitely!
-
I'm automating Daddy's factory and putting all these lazy ungrateful bums out into the street where they belong.
-
We should not be too hard on the rich elite. Having too much money does things to your psychology that make you more of a cunt. And if you're born into money there's an 87% chance you'll become an entitled cunt. We need to study them more and work on medications that will inhibit their cuntiness.
-
The earth is being abused by those who want to exploit her riches. They'll scorch the earth and then live underground like mole people. I say we fight back on Facebook.
-
How many of these rich capitalist elite in america are christian. Do they use the christian slave and master narrative to justify their action. Do they believe themselves righteous.
-
How much of the elites power is based on what they actually offer and not just the manipulation of that power
-
In the last forty years the worlds elite have proved without doubt that any control over our future is ilegitimate, and that they only wish to serve themselves and not our societies and our environment.
-
The rich elite have to start taking responsiblitity, or we will have no choice but to take there ability to lead off them.
-
They say wealth lasts three generations, which is comforting knowing that if a person creates wealth, it doesn't stay in the hands of their future descendants who did not work or think their way into money. But who is this they that says wealth only lasts three generations. It's rich capitalists which used propaganda like this to keep all there wealth in their hands or their families. These same people died five generations ago and their families are still worth billions, sucking on the teet of their workers and giving back to society as little as possible.
-
We are taught in the capitalist system that wealth is a measure of worth, that having more things is proof of utility.
-
We all need to learn to live together. Not in the same house, but just get along without all the backchat from those who don't deserve a voice.
-
The drivers make many unhappy. We can do better. It's as simple as that. But the prevailing ideologies don't allow for thinking outside a range which is set by those who benifit most
-
England, like America, and Australia has a growing element of the country that believes the outgroup outside the homeneny is the cause of their conditions. The reality it is that capital is being increasingly drawn to the to with larger and larger profits being shared by fewer and fewer
-
The aliens are giving us time to sort our own shit out, to develop as individuals
-
Believing is God is a great comfort and can be a great benefit to the individual, and he could exist in some form or another, some higher pressence.
-
People who go into polotics from the church are not rational players, they are dogmatic and don't serve the wishes of the populos, let alone the church.
-
The Christians as a group have been manipulated politically since the seventies and because the teachings of the church do not manifest chritical thinking they have fallen for these tricks every step of the way. Now the Christians, once the proper and honest are now the nut jobs trying to derail democracy on behalf of the rich capitalists which created the conditions for their discontent. They have been fooled, but have to much pride to recognise it.
-
The doogooders arn't the problem, it's how easy it is to be misguided as a doogooder, to put your eggs in baskets that don't generate better outcomes
-
Why don't we divide ourselves into warring factions and fight each other like they did in Ireland?
-
Populist leaders are con-jobs

The nordic countries are better because there is a level of thought and honesty that gose into it's governance
-
We need to have a class of human that is provide with house, food and a stipent and their job is simply to think and provide insights without getting caught up in the culture of wanting more. A set of Mandarin's detached from any games of personal gain, in order to provide insight that is not tainted by a masters will or want, or form of cultural ideology that forms when groups think as one to promote their own success
-
It's quite obvious at this stage that neoliberal policies inacted in the seventies and eightees have failed us as societies. But have done exactly what they were designed to do, enrich those who already have much and cement control over countries in their hands
-
One dollar can buy more than one dollars worth of stuff. It depends on how often you can reclaim that dollar commercially.
-
If America sort peace rather than war the world would be on a far better footing. But they are to scared at what they might lose. Rather than look at what the world would gain
-
Humanity will never overcome it is to choose war over peace.
-
When we are at war we all go right wing in a way because it becomes an us vs them. This is why war is so distructive and why the elite use war to keep us from solving problems as a collective by doing what is optimal and just plain doing the right thing
-
The policy of mutually assured destruction has become more of a mission statement.
-
The shit people believe is mind boggling. We need to add crytical thinking to school syllibuses. But by the way things are heading they'll be teaching Astrology by the end of the symester.
-
A lot of private school kids might turn out pretty evil, but at least they pronounce their words properly.
-
My parents sent me to a boarding school because they were rich. I feel abandoned and unloved, but the upside is I know all the tricks to getting ahead. I'm planning on sending my kids to boarding school. I want to be rich so people will have to treat me special. Fuck helping people. They're all losers with parents who loved them.
-
If your charity only extends to your family or even your group you are still selfish despite how much you give.
-
The problem with society is they don't care enough about people outside their circle and things that arn'e in front of them.
-
Humans have reach a point of advancement where interconnectivity between tribes is fundamental.
-
Are universities the best way of producing talent?
-
I think their should be two types of schools. and the child or parent chooses which one they attend.
-
Republicans are the dumb cuts who vote for other dumb cunts or cunts that are borderline sociopaths
-
If the liberal government had their way we would be just like America, even though America is a terrible place unless you got lucky and are well off
-
If you know the truth about how the USA operates, outside what the mainstream media want us to believe about the US, it's hard not to compartmentalize all the things they give the world which are positive, and the underlying nature of the US empire, how it operates around the world and how it treats its own citizens. Being poor is a sin in America and their are multiple ways you are punished.
-
When I think of America I think of the Dennis Leary Song, I'm an arsehole.
-
The different between the US and Australia is that we make heroes out of our blue collar criminals and the US make heroes of white collar criminals.
-
The problem with class is not about the fact that their is classes. There will always be a cass system. It's that people of a particular class get away with maximising the benefit to their clas and minising the ability to join.
-
Schooling & Education
-
The problem with the education system is teachers can't be parents and some parents are dicks.
-
I feel sorry for the poor kids who go to school with cheap shoes and get laughed at by the other kids who are wearing nikes because they don't want their kid to be picked on.
-
When I went to school this young girl in my class shit herself because she wasn't allowed to go to the toilet, and from that point on everyone called her stinky. That's the problem with the education system. If my girl ever shits herself in class I'm home-schooling that poor girl.
-
So much of what school is about is preparing kids for the workforce and zero time is spent preparing kids for an alien attack.
-
Australia used to be all about the fair go, now its get ahead by any means possible, they should change the Australian anthem from advance Australia fair, to advance Australia unfair. Atleast we still have fairy bread at kids parties.
-
I saw an aboriginal kid the other day walking down the street with his head held high. What's next?
-
My mum thinks Scott Morrison was a good honest bloke, boy has the TV done a number on her.
-
I got all negative influences out of my life. I cancelled my subscription to 'The Australian'
-
Sometimes I listen to my mother's views on politics and think, boy oh boy, she's got to stop watching TV. They have her convinced the good guys are the bad guys and the bad guys are the good guys.
-
As a young person, it's quite confronting to find out a lot of shit the media tells you be bullshit.
-
I think people would be better informed if they didn't read the paper.
-
They said smoking was good, but that was a lie. They said a few drinks a day was healthy, but that was a lie. What's next? Raising kids isn't the most fun you can have.
-
We all manage to weave logical fallacy into our arguments if we are not adept at the art of argument.
-
I like a good sermon about being at war with the non-christian world. But some of these non-Christians think they have the right to question our truth. Christian need governmental protection so we can keep waging war on the non-christian world. They should live by our rules. Christians need to vote for Christians. Not policies which are good for a happy harmonious society.
-
If you really think about it. Christians don't really try to be like Jesus. They try to be like other Christians.
-
The sooner we make the earth unlivable. The sooner Jesus will come.
-
I listened to Matt Redman's 10,000 reasons, and it was so moving I nearly became a Christian. But then I remembered how the faithful vote. And I just thought no, it's the Christians who are wrong.
-
Some people work extremely hard and by doing so gain a lot of wealth to show for that work.
-
The problem is most people are unaware of how stupid they are. We need a system where these people are reminded of their own ignorance regularly.
-
One of the problems I have with the lefts critic of the right on youtube is that they use humour as a vehicle for their narratives.
-
I used to love getting outdoors. Thanks to climate change, I'm under the air-conditioner 24/7.
-
If we want to tackle climate change, we have to bring the footballers in on it. They're good at tackling things.
-
I may not be a smart man, but I know science people don't know what's gonna happen in the sky.
-
We're all a little superstitious, some a lot more so.
-
Christian Ideology is based more on the distortions the rich have sold us as it is about anything Jesus taught.
-
The libs are parasitic. But atleast they'll have a beer down the pub with ya and be able to spin a few descent yarns.
-
I remember when, if you got caught receiving an expensive bottle of wine, you got sacked from the government. Now you can rape someone and get promoted.
-
Imagine if you had a good heart, and you got into politics for the right reasons, but then you became corrupted by the party's culture. That's why I stick to beekeeping instead of helping.
-
I shit in a box and posted it to the former prime minister.
-
I voted for the greens for the last two elections, but then I found out they care more about the future of the planet, then they do about corporate profits.
-
.You know how our best understood truths are denied by the liberal party. That's because they are selfish cunts.
-
What if the Australian liberal party were doing the right thing, the thing best for our nation, the thing which will ensure our future for years to come? Just kidding, the liberal party is corrupt. They're all corrupt.
-
There are four types of Liberal voter. The Wealthy, The crooked, The Ignorant and the Christians. I once knew a bloke that was a wealthy crooked ignorant Christian. He would have made a great politician.
-
I wonder if I joined the Liberal party, whether I too would turn into a monster.
-
As a member of the liberal party, my motives are simple. To help those more fortunate.
-
I'm thinking of joining the liberal party. I have some mates in real estate, I could help get a few re-zoning issues looked at for them. I'm sure it's in my best interests.
-
The national party used to be about people in the regions, then it was about farmers in the regions, and then it was about rich farmers in the regions. Now it's about themselves.
-
People think the libs and labour are the same, they're not. The libs are full of parasites and labour is full of politicians, which while being full of politicians is a concern, they try to be parasite resistant and keep the bugs out.
-
The world is coming apart at the seams with the left's need for honesty, transparency, fairness, sensitivity and care. And the rights need to prove they're not stupid just because they didn't do well at school.
-
I'm not worried if civilization collapses. I'm a libertarian.
-
The left are able to put themselves in other people's shoes. The right say they're my shoes. Buy your own, you pinko commie.
-
Farmers work hard for their money, and it can be a very isolating profession, and they can suffer big losses and even lose it all. It's a bit of a gamble. At least they have the Nationals to look after them. Well at least if you grow cotton or have a huge farm, other people run. In that case, they've got your back. But those big land, big water farmers have it tough, one minute they're rich, next minute they're less rich, then they're really rich again.
-
I wish I was rich. Then I might get some support from a liberal government.
-
Remember when the liberals were known for prudent economic management? Before they decided the rich needed more handouts.
-
I've met a few of these liberal politicians, they come across as lovely, caring people. Fucking charlatans.
-
If you want to go into politics to help people, choose the Labour party. If you want to go into politics to help yourself, join the libs or the nats, just remember you've got to be a fast talker and be able to easily compromise on your values.
-
It seems the world is stuck needing arseholes.
-
In my tribe, if you don't agree with the tribal narrative, you are cast out or killed. Which is hard because my tribe is very superstitious. So I'm supposed to believe in a lot of nonsense.
-
Back in my day, you could only carry on like an arsehole if you were in a position of power. Now everyone thinks they have that right. People need to show respect to those in authority. And people in authority need to crack down on those who think they have the same rights as them.
-
I spent many years in battle with the idea of whether to maximise my usefulness and creativity or to maximise my earning potential in order to have a larger impact with my utility. I came to realise that if I lived with only essentials and didn't go for the best I could focus solely on my endevours of utility. Many are not in my situation that allows for that. And so they try and win the game. Surely there are thousends of ways we can structure our societies outside the dicotomy of Capitalism and Communism
-
The Trumps, The Morrisons, and the johnsons are incongruent with any healthy future society. The people who support them really don't have full faculty over their own thinking
-
Their aren't many big picture politions with bold visions of a better future in our political systems, we are attrofied because everyone has been busy inside the game instead of quetioning the purpose and utility of such a game
-
The invisible hand of the market is visible because it's covered in shit from having that hand lodged firmly up societies own arsehole
-
For all my dislike of American policy, I'd pick America over China simply because atleast you can speak the truth in America. No one will listen, but you can speak the truth.
-
The result of divided nations, are a result of chickens coming home to roost in regards to the manipulation of the populace.
-
American leaders had the ability to make the world a better place, instead they told lies and lined their pockets.
-
I want my son to care about society, that's why I send him to a public school.
-
The best strategy I can think of for dealing with bad faith players around the globe is to have a global body that acts not in the interests of the most powerful but by a set of first priniples.
-
From the time we learn to communicate through language, we use those words to build narratives which provide meaning to occurances.

Sometimes they think they are better than you because sometimes they probably are

People don't want things a lot of the time. They want the status they think it brings

We can live without plastic. We did it for mellenia.

Until the day comes where those who do the most harm are seen as the bad guys and treated as such the world will remain a scam

You don't need that much to be happy. Tell that to your average capitalist. His whole person is in the game. He is nothing outside of that.
-
Modern pop-culture and modern first world culture suffers from a lack of authenticity
-
All cultures are fucked, some just mre than others.
-
Half the problem with the education system and why it fails so many is that teachers are human. And humans are stupid with their own biases ad drug problems they try to hide from their colleages.
-
The problem with teaching is that to many teachers go into it because they want to keep as many holiday period as they had when they were growing up.
-
Teachers are weird people, they have all these little minions they look after that either love them or hate them, either way I can't see that not distorting their psychology. And that's why I think we should fire all the teachers and employ AI to do their job.
-
The top is a big nepotistic boys club where men are given jobe because they went to a school that their father went to, and he knows him from here.
-
While I believe business is a necessary part of society. It;s like having to poo is part of being human. At the end of the day their is a stench to it.
-
I wish we'd better educate stupid people.
-
Most of us don't need more, we just need adequate public services, a place to go outside the house that isn't toxic. Civil society has disappeared and been replaced by capitalist enterprise where all their is to do when you leave the house is buy shit
-
What is the point of a rich society and all the retorick envolved in making our society richer. If the average person can't live a life not totally consumed by worry about finances. This is a built in flaw in the system so we don't have the mental space to activiely improve our conditions.
-
I like that in a capitalist society you can throw ideas out there that can be generative through profit.
-
The Christians are betting on Jesus returning and destroying the earth and they will have a better world. They don't care about protecting this one. It can't be underestimated how much degredation and manipulation has been caused all over the globe due to this mindset. It has to be rooted out of our society.
-
Some of what is interpreted by christians as true by following the bible has proved to be false. That's why a lot of Christian scientist go against prevailing narrative about what we know through the scientific method. It's because they are trying to shoehorn their christian narratives into the picture of what they know.
-
You will not see a man with a framework of being in his head that is working and beneficial turn to Jesus as their saviour. It is those who don't know anything else and have been brought up on the bible who turn to Jesus. Or those who's frameworks of being have failed that and have not already turned to something else which works for them.
-
I believe in reformations, change of the soul, changes of the hearts of the populous that lead to more adequate systems of governance.
-
When are we going to get back to the good old days where we stoned people if they were different or didn't believe the same thing we do?
-
Continual improvement over growth
-
Everything to do with globalization has been to allow freer access to trade, which has led to exploitation and degredation of the environment. Globalization should be about a set of global rules designed to protect cultures and peoples and not the proliferation of corporate interest alone. And ofcourse protective measures regarding the land and water. We need a set of first principles to be guided by as a planet.
-
Society is becoming more corrupt. I blame neoliberalism and Glenn. Glenn's the worst!
-
The individual is where insight and creativity is born and comes into being, not through consensus.

-
Having a need for rewards beyond a standard base living only creates a need in people that takes them away from the nature of their task and focuses them on maximising their own value through reward.
-
There is many an average joe who excel at the basics of life and are able to navigate their life successfuly without having a mind for educating themselves on the bigger picture aspects of life and society.
-
If we were to be serious about solving the worlds problems, we'd get the greatest minds together with the express intentent on working from first principles and not based on any all or all interests of the haves of the world.
-
Is it really human nature to be gready, its not, the capalist mindset is, and the mindsets of the haves
-
Greed is good was a rally cry for a generation who thought all problems could be solved just by being self-serving.
-
There's far to many shill's in this world. People who'll promote a lie for a buck.
-
We have limmited resources, if we choice to live lavish lives of oppulense we are doing a diservice to the future generations. We need community not stuff.
-
The class system in england is abhorent.
-
I'm just so glad I'm not an American where however you vote you a still voting for the status quo, and what is the status quo. Looking after those who already have and screwing those who do not. Heaven forbid you get sick from lack of good nutrition in America. You thought you were broke now, just wait until you pay for the hospital bill for wanting those kidney stones removed.
-
Maybe America is great. A wonderful place to live with lots of opportunities. All I can see from the other side of the pond is a dystopia, where the well off have all the power and wealth and only think about how get more power and wealth. It's just mot healthy r right. Atleast in Australia we can vote out shitheadfs like that. Atleast for now.
-
I'd had to be a dumbass in America. No one wants to employ you. Buisiness wants to screw you, no one wants to look after you, and the people who say they do are lying scumbags
-
As far as I see by getting a handout from the government I'm taxing people for not giving me a job with a living wage.
-
I can't wait for the robots to take over our jobs, we'll have so much more free time. But it will only be good if at the same time they tax business appropriately. I want my own robot, I'l call him Ryan after my best friend who died.
-
You know why governments leave loopholes in the taxation system? I don't know I'm asking you?
-
The Goverment can tax my balls as far as I'm concerned.
-
I know I'm a drain on society not having a job and living off government money. But it gives me time to work on my novels. And if I'm ever on the new york times best seller list I'll happily pay my taxes. Stories about aliens are big sellers.
-
If only the poor earned more we could tax them more heavily in order to pay for their benefits.
-
Schooling & Education
-
life is unequal, there is no equality in nature. This by no means means we should not strive as humans to make things fairer. Fairness leads to a more harmonious society, and less kids doing the hot shots under the bridge, and you boob showing side boob on insta.
-
Equaality can be taken too far, but to not address equality, and along for as level playing field as can be without creating issue, is like letting your brother steal all your Halloween candy because he is bigger than you, mum and dad should have done more, I'm still pissed off about that.
-
inequality happens when the system is rigged in favour of those who have the power to rig it, and they do, and they have. Then they fund people to write about how this is best for society, it's a fucking joke, I really want to get drunk right now, but I've been sober five years, and I'm not going to let the elites win this one.
-
The world is driven by corporate interests. Is this a good thing? Not at all. It is the problem. Fully and utterly. Just like how dad's drinking led him to an early grave, so shall be us, so shall be us. Do I get money for this?
-
I have huge balsacks, does that mean I deserve more than someone with small gonads, maybe a little. But it can't be all one sided. Little gonads can still produce children and make testosterone, just less of it. It's a matter of measure, and proportion, and need. I'm talking about equality here, you get that right. Do you want me to send you a pic of my dog riding a skateboard?
-
Corporations aren't our friends, they wish to exploit their position because they are guided by profit, and not what is right. That's why they are wrong, and we need a government independent of capital to ensure that the right thing happens, for the sake of the people and our survival. I'm pregnant and have been craving cherry ripes all week.
-
The riight have never had vision, they are simply not creative enough, that's why their only option is to look to the past for answers and make the same mistakes
-
The left has its false narratives.
-
Elite pact with the populous
-
We should ask when looking at the ultra rich how do they contribute positively to society on a large scale besides ownership of businesses which make money. For all their wealth do they make a positive or negative impact on society besides PR, which is at the end of the day pure manipulation
-
Societies problems comes down to rich people wanting to much. It's far more the the have nots being jealous. It is about having resources allocated appropriately to do the things that need to be done and should be done
-
The problem with the capitalist system and more so the moneyed elite is that we are selfish with our aims. No one wants to make a sacrifice and lose any sort of position to make the world better. This is why government should be more powerful thn corporations. But legitimate government who seeks the betterment of humanity
