A wise man said nothing; it was then I understood perfectly.
Remember, “life rewards action not intelligence”
Be smart enough to know how stupid you really are. Be wise enough to know how foolish you are. Be strong enough to cry. And kind enough to tell the truth when no one else will.
Learn all the rules, so you know which ones are worth breaking
I am a fool, a big mess of things i think i know and understand, and am so full of my own beliefs and biases, my mind is brimming with info to tell you how to live and be, but I am a sword not a scalpal, I injure, I cause hurt, too bold and too certain, I must be light, I must soften, and never forget that the fool is me, not those i wish to correct, because I have corrected myself, but am still full of my own unique form of idiocy I can easily see in other, but miss in myself. I too have been found wanting; my power, perhaps, I see willingness to see that folly and hold it up to the light.
I welcome moments when I get a taste of the depths of my ignorance. At first I am filled with embarrassment, but that is replaced with joy as my beginner's mind takes hold. I'm a little less certain, a bit more unsure, and I'm ready to learn to do better, to try to understand, knowing I'm not there, and I'm no longer thinking in absolutes.
I am ready to learn, to grow, to be wrong and own it, to see my own folly, and admit I am far from righteousness, that I am broken, and full of arrogance and judgement, and I am no longer qualified to call out others' folly, as my house is made of glass.
