AI, in its current state, is far greater than many want to believe. For some, AI is a nightmare waiting to happen. For me, it is a godsend. If I need direct, personalised, instant advice, it is there. No hunting for the right article on Google, just an amalgam of the best thinking available. I use ChatGPT with an initial prompt that runs in the background of every request, asking it to be critical and to approach problems from a psychological perspective. It has been immensely helpful. I am discerning enough, or silly enough depending on your perspective, to know when to listen to its advice and when to push back. For me, it is everything I could hope for. While some are waiting for it to achieve AGI or something resembling natural intelligence, I already find it extraordinary. It is so practical, so groundbreaking, and so beneficial that it is hard to believe how far it has come. While the loudest critics complain and mourn the artists, writers, and coders whose work has shaped these systems, I see it differently. There would be no higher honour than knowing a piece of my thinking or work contributed to something that helps others. For all its flaws and unresolved problems, this technology represents the height of what humanity can currently achieve. Ironically, it is often underestimated for how useful it already is, provided it is used with care and intention. Having a colleague and mentor that is not driven by ego, pride, or self-serving bias is a rare thing. For now, I am genuinely grateful that we are pushing the limits of this technology. Maybe one day I will eat my words, but until then, I am happy to see where it takes us. #creation #technology #society Published 4-2-2026 Written on https://freewriter.app
