Why some smart people are full of dumb, dangerous, and antiquated ideas Over the last 400 years, since the beginning of the enlightenment, we have learnt so much about our reality, things we now take for granted as truth were only discovered in the last smidgeon of our timeline as a species. But to say before that time their was not wisdom would be a misnomer. Great intellectual thinkers had their finger on the pulse in regards to what it means to live a good life, and what it means to be a good person thousands of years ago. But only in the last few hundred years were we able to better test that wisdom and put meat on the bones of why certain ways of being are benificial. This knowledge was built on the shoulders of those who recorded knowledge from those earlier periods. But as there was much folly and ignorance in cultures of the past, so is it now. Great progress has been made, but we are running on the same hardware we were using when we still lived in tribes, and foraged and hunted for our food.
