The Book I Never Meant to Publish
In the coming weeks, I’ll be releasing my latest book — Fat Loser w/ A Laptop — a collection of 100 raw journal entries spanning from 2022 to 2024. I originally put off finishing the book because I had journaled for myself, as a way to process challenges and push through personal walls. I didn’t think it would make for much of a read.
But it’s actually pretty good. There’s a bit of a story arc to it, and putting the book together made all that writing really pay off.
Seeing My Own Folly — And Growth
Looking back, I could clearly see the errors in my thinking that weren’t obvious to me at the time. I also saw what had actually worked for me. In 2022, I had a four-month stretch where I was hyper-productive and on top of life. Rereading those entries made me realize what I was doing wrong now.
I remembered most of the strategies mentioned in the book, but there were key habits I’d forgotten — like quitting TV completely during that period. That single change made a huge difference.
Riding the Wave (Again)
I’m currently in what feels like a second renaissance. I’m mostly firing on all four burners again. I now allow myself to watch just one TV series a month — and it’s been a game-changer. I’ve also reinstated small daily habits, like a bit of exercise every day, that keep things moving.
Of course, I know I’ll probably crash again at some point. But for now? Good times.
